Terms of Sale

These terms cover reserving and buying the Isper Founder Edition from Isper, Inc. Reserving and buying are two separate steps: nothing is sold, and nothing is paid, until you and the jacket are in the same room.

1. A reservation is not a purchase

  • Reserving on the website holds one session time for an in-person meeting in San Francisco. It does not buy anything, and no money is taken online.
  • No sale takes place until you attend the session and pay in person. Until then you may cancel by email at any time, and we may release the reservation under section 6.
  • One reservation per person. One email address and one phone number can hold one reservation at a time.

2. Price and payment

  • $500 per jacket, plus California sales tax at the rate in effect on the day, paid in person at your session.
  • Card or cash. We never take payment details on the website. You receive a receipt.

3. Location and eligibility

  • San Francisco only. The buyer must be physically present at the session. No shipping, no collection by someone else.
  • You must be 18 or older.
  • Using Isper requires an iPhone and a Mac that run the current Isper apps. Both apps are included; neither is sold separately.

4. The delivery session

  • About 60 minutes, in person, with the founder. You try the jacket on, pay, and enrol your voice in the app so it recognises you as the wearer.
  • The session is required. The jacket is not usable without the enrolment, so we do not hand one over outside a session.
  • Bring your iPhone. The address is emailed to you before the session. To reschedule, reply to that email or write to us before your time.

5. Sizing

  • Three sizes: S, M, and L. Each jacket is built to order in the size you choose. We ask for your size after you reserve and before your jacket is built.
  • A size change once your jacket is being built is not guaranteed; ask by email and we will say whether it is still possible.
  • You try the jacket on at the session before paying. If it does not fit and no other size is available, you may leave without buying. No sale has taken place.

6. Missed sessions

  • If you do not attend your session and do not reschedule within 7 days, your reservation is released. Released jackets go to the restock round and the waitlist, in order.
  • Nothing is charged for a missed session, because nothing has been paid.

7. Returns

  • Returns are accepted for defects only, within 14 days of delivery. Email us with your reservation reference and a description of the defect.
  • For a confirmed defect we repair or replace the jacket, or refund the full price including tax, at your choice. Return is in person in San Francisco, or by a method we arrange with you.
  • There are no change-of-mind returns. The session exists so that you can see, wear, and try the product before any money changes hands.

8. Warranty and care

  • 12 months from delivery against defects in materials and workmanship, covering the microphones, cable, connector, and construction of the jacket.
  • Not covered: normal wear, accidental damage, misuse, alteration, and damage from cleaning the jacket against its care instructions.
  • The jacket has microphones and a cable built into it. Care instructions come with it and are gone over at the session. Washing it against those instructions is not covered by the warranty.
  • To make a claim, email us with your reference. We repair or replace at our option.

9. Software

  • The jacket works with the Isper iOS app and the Isper Mac app, which run entirely on your own devices. No account, no subscription.
  • App updates may add, change, or remove functionality. We will not add a requirement to send recordings, transcripts, or voice data off your devices.
  • We maintain both apps, including updates for new iOS and macOS versions and fixes, for at least 12 months from delivery.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent California law allows, Isper's total liability arising from a jacket, the app, or these terms is limited to the price you paid for that jacket, and Isper is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing here reduces your rights under California consumer protection law.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Disputes are heard in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco, California.
