Researcher, Clothing Texture

Fabric rubs, rustles, and muffles, and the array has to hear speech through all of it.Find the materials and weaves that stay quiet on a microphone through a worn day.

What you will do

  • Characterize fabric noise: rustle, friction, wind, movement.
  • Test weaves, coatings, and mount isolation against speech pickup.
  • Build the test rig and define the metric.
  • Feed results into the garment and the array.

What we look for

  • A background in acoustics, textiles, or materials. An odd mix is ideal.
  • You measure before you argue.
  • You are happy inventing a field nobody has named yet.
